Pests that Can Invade Your Home

Bugs, insects and pests can invade and infest your home any time of the year. These various creatures can be quite the nuisance, sometimes scary; not to mention cause harm to your home and health.  At any time your home could be affected by hundreds to thousands of insects, with a variety of them lurking inside the walls.

Although there are many pesticides on the market, it is usually in your best interest to hire a professional pest control company to take care of pests. Pest control companies provide the very best in chemical products that actually keep the pests away. Before calling in a pest control company it is best to know the type of problem that you have. Here are a few of the most common household pests that could be found in your home.

Cockroaches
Cockroaches are creepy, they multiply rapidly, and they can cause germs and disease. Once a cockroach has made his way into your home, getting rid of them quickly is a must as infestations do not require a lengthy period of time. Bugs leave messes behind everywhere they go and can ruin anything inside of the home, as there is no safe spot that roaches cannot travel.

Ants
One of the most common infestations found inside homes is with the ant. There are many species of ants, all in search of food, who welcome themselves inside of your home in colonies. Most are attracted to sweet and sugary substances such as grains of sugar, syrup, rotting fruits, etc. Luckily there are easy to treat with the proper pesticides.

Termites
Termites are one of the worst pests a home can see. They live within the grounds or walls of the home, feeding on wood. Usually the home structure is their choice of wood. These pests live in colonies like ants, and can be very hard to detect as they are often not seen inside of the home.

Spiders
Spiders scare the daylights out of most people, and are another common household pest. Along with scaring you, spiders can also bite, and cause injury and possible fatality if bitten by a venomous spider.  Most of the spiders found inside of a home are not venomous but none the less scary. Spiders are usually found in late fall, sneaking through homes through any small open space they can find.

Bedbugs
Bedbugs are one of the worst pests that you can find inside of your home; they are also one of the most difficult to get rid of. As the name suggests, bedbugs are often found inside of the bed and feed on human blood, with a bite that can be both itchy and painful. Bedbugs almost always require a professional.

Fleas and Ticks
Fleas feed on human blood; they can jump from the carpet to feet, ankles and calves. Female fleas can produce as many as 800 eggs in her lifetimes. If you have an animal, fleas are a great possibility. Ticks can also be found inside of the home, carried in from trees, leaves, grass, etc. Ticks carry diseases such as typhus, Lyme disease and others and can live 500 days without feeding.
