Signs that Indicate You Should Visit a Gynaecologist


Talking about your personal health can become very intimidating at times. When it comes to women’s personal health, many women feel embarrassed to talk about it with others. However, there is one person with whom you can share your health problems and they will help you solve them and that person is your gynecologist. Avoiding health problems at earlier stages can lead to bigger problems in the future. So, if you are going through any personal health problems do not feel ashamed to contact your gynecologist.

Hitting Puberty
When girls hit puberty, it is advised to visit a gynecologist so that they learn everything about the body changes they are going through. However unfortunately, many young women choose to put it off and avoid talking about it. A visit to gynecologist will help them identify if there is any problem with their period cycles or other related issues.

It is important to visit a local gynecologist at the early stages of the puberty, you will have a better knowledge of the changes you will go through. Girls who are sexually active may have discolored vaginal discharge and it is important that they identify if there are any warning signs like irregular cycles or heavy bleeding.

Period Problems
If you notice any problems related to periods like irregular bleeding, it is important that you visit your gynecologist. Many girls may panic and choose to not go to a doctor but doing so will only worsen the problem. If you have pelvic pain or unusual discharge or disturbed menstrual cycle, it can be a sign of cervical cancer.

While periods having cramps is very common but if the pain is out of control, it can be a bigger problem. Some women start having cramps later in their life which is a more concerning issue. In simple words, if you are feeling way more uncomfortable than normal during your periods, it is very important that you visit your gynecologist.

Painful Intercourse
There are times when you may feel very uncomfortable during sex or the intercourse may be painful but if this happens often take it as an alarming sign. You may be having a sexual disorder like vulvodynia, lubrication or vaginismus. These disorders can be treated but it is important that you they get diagnosed at an early stage. Other sexual problems include STD, pelvic inflammatory disease or fibroids on the uterus.

Burning or Itching
Urinal tract infection is one of the most common personal health problems among women. It may start with the burning sensation and itching in the vaginal area. If it goes untreated the problem may worsen and then gets hard to treat. UTI can later develop into more serious problems like Interstitial Cystitis or Painful Bladder Syndrome. You may go through severe pain in the belly button to your lower back and also in the groin and thighs.

Unusual discharge, uneasy periods, painful sex, burning or itching in the vagina are the most common personal health problem symptoms among women. It is very important that you visit your gynecologist when these alarming signs appear.
