Having a Fun Dining Experience on Holidays


While you are on holidays, you want to be able to dine at wonderful restaurants with delicious cuisine. We look at seven cool places from Sydney to the Gold Coast that will wet your appetite and leave a lasting impression on your holidays.

ARIA Restaurant, Sydney and Brisbane

ARIA is well known for its impressive views and dramatic backdrop. Hard Rock Cafe, Sydney and Surfers Paradise
The Australian Hard Rock Cafe restaurants maintain the rock music inspiration that the worldwide chain is famous for. The restaurants are conveniently located in Sydney’s Darling Harbour and Gold Coast’s Surfers Paradise. You’ll love the rocking music and the tasty American inspired cuisine including the New York Strip Steak, Hickory-Smoked Bar-B-Que Ribs and California Chicken Club Sandwich. While you’re there, don’t forget to check out the amazing rock star memorabilia and rock shop where you can buy a cool vintage design or hot style t-shirt.

Sake – Sydney and Brisbane
With an obvious reminiscence of Nobu’s, Sake stands up as an excellent restaurant in its own right with its fabulous contemporary Japanese cuisine. The menus change with the seasons and always feature tasty new-style sushi, classic dishes and imported sakes with exquisite flavours. Such tasty fare has included popcorn shrimp with creamy spicy sauce and tuna avocado sushi maki roll.

Sake Sydney is located in the historic Argyle Precinct on the Rocks and Sake Brisbane is at Eagle Street Pier. Each location conveys a chic designer setting in private dining space, traditional Japanese sunken tables, sushi bar and intimate booths.

Nield Avenue – Sydney
This fabulous restaurant located in Sydney’s Rushcutters Bay will amaze and surprise you with its large New York style designer warehouse space. Its sophisticated setting and divine modern Mediterranean cuisine will make you want to come back if you plan on visiting Sydney again.

Outstanding “food of the sun” dishes include the cauliflower fritters as a small starter, slow spit roasted milk fed lamb souvlaki as a main dish, and warm mini duck egg custard tarts for dessert. The hand-minced veal and lamb kebabs from the coal spit are also impressively presented on flatbread with a sumac onion salad, hung yoghurt, grilled green chilli, cracked wheat and bell pepper paste.

Moo Moo The Wine Bar + Grill – Broadbeach and Brisbane
A meat lover’s restaurant, the Moo Moo steakhouse provides some of the best cuts of steak in Australia using produce from the best breeders. The menu includes The Moo Moo Signature Dish, which is the Spice Rubbed one kilogram Wagyu Rump Roast; Wagyu Sirloin; Dry Aged Rib Eye and the rare Master Kobe Beef. There are also seafood, chicken, kangaroo and vegetarian dishes.

There are Moo Moo Restaurants located in the Gold Coast near luxury Broadbeach accommodation apartments and in Brisbane’s historic Port Office Building in Stamford Plaza. Both restaurants drop the typical masculine vibe of steakhouses in favour of a more elegant and sleek interior decor.

Osmeros Bros Seafood Restaurant, Main Beach
Known as a Gold Coast seafood icon; Osmeros Bros serves up delicious oysters, ocean fish, crabs, Moreton Bay bugs as well as pasta and steak. The pan-fried snapper dish is an outstanding tasty meal served with sweet bug tails and a small risotto. Located in Main Beach’s Marina Mirage, the restaurant has a classy and warm ambience among its balcony and deck setting.

Pancakes on the Rocks, Sydney and Mermaid Beach
This well-known restaurant chain is famous for its deliciously fluffy pancakes. A highlight is the Strawberry Patch buttermilk pancakes served with fresh strawberries, cream, vanilla ice cream and strawberry coulis. Other dishes on the menu include crepes, pizzas, salads and ribs. There are several locations in Sydney and a newly opened restaurant in Mermaid Beach on the Gold Coast.
