Infographic : Hyaluronic Acid for Skin
The skin care
industry has considered hyaluronic acid as a great solution for aging skin. In
fact, it’s so popular that tons of skin care products are now being formulated
with it.
But, what makes it
that popular?
Hyaluronic acid
naturally occurs in the body. Half of the body’ supply is concentrated in the
skin tissue, making the skin plump and supple.
However, as the body
ages, this supply greatly diminishes and this is when the skin starts
experiencing changes in tone and appearance. Sagging happens and wrinkles and
fine lines develop.
Being a potent
humectant, hyaluronic acid works great in hydrating dry skin. It attracts water and prevents
moisture loss.
It can also create a
protective barrier on top of the skin.
Unlike other
ingredients, this one doesn’t cause occlusion to the skin. So, if you have oily
or acne-prone skin, you can benefit from hyaluronic acid, too.
You should, however,
be careful in using hyaluronic acid products in dry climates. Since its main
function is to attract moisture from the air, it may end up pulling out
moisture from your skin.
Now, to find out more
about hyaluronic acid and its benefits for your skin, here’s an infographic to
help you out.
