Choose the Right Candle to Enhance the Ambience of your Environment

History depicts that fire was used for several centuries when there was no electricity. Obviously taking fire indoors was not safe so they invented candles which glowed the entire night and people could carry out their daily work easily. Chinese invented special type of candles that was called candle clock. This was used to keep a watch on time. Weights were kept beside the candle and every time when wax melted it put pressure on those containers. This pressure forced containers to make noise which worked as an alarm.

Very little is known about the material used in making candle at that time, but one thing is sure, it wasn’t wax.  People say Chinese used whale fat and then Japanese started using squirrel, cow and sheep fat but due to the awful smell that was emitted when they burnt, it was banned. With time, people started using beeswax but now candles are made of soy wax, beeswax, paraffin and many more.

With changing trend, the demand for various types of candles has also risen. Now there are variety of candles available in the market for luxury, therapy and mood, depending on each category you will get different designs and fragrances available.

Companies like Wiff, have made effort in gathering new and attractive fragrances that can deliver different kinds of mood every time you burn them. They don’t come with the same old fragrances that you get in all stores but they have their own creative team that work personally on the essence. You can explore their website online and will know that imagination can be limitless.

Not everyone can manage a luxury candle. People usually decorate their house very nicely with classic wall hangings, beautiful wall paint and to give it more soothing environment they dim the bulbs and light the candles. Although the candles are unique and so are the vessels, one thing that destroys the whole setting is the black soot that surrounds the jar. The soot dims the light further and poor wick maintenance is responsible for this.

A few things that you should follow when you want a clean vessel and longer burning candle are as follows –

·         It is said that the upper coating of wax is hard and full of dye and chemicals therefore, when you first light your candle make sure you allow it to burn for couple of hours.
·         Don’t put your candle near windy area where it blows more and is consumed faster.
·         When you are done burning your candle ensure that you trim the wick. This will keep black smoke and longer flames away from vessel when you burn it.
·         It is possible that your wick might shift from its place when wax melts. Thus, after blowing it off, before wax freezes bring back wick to the centre with the help of a stick to avoid blackening of glass.
·         Cover the vessel with lid to avoid dust settling on wick and candle. These not only looks untidy but when dust burns, it fades the fragrance.
·         Maintaining the candle jar is also important so that there isn’t any black soot settling on it. You can either clean it with soap and water or by dipping it in warm water and then cleaning it with paper towel.

These few tips not only help in maintaining a clean and glowing candle flame but also look attractive when you invite your guests.
