7 Essential Oils That Can Transform Your Skin

I have been a skincare fanatic for some time now, but my version of skincare involved using fancy, expensive products for a long time. Though I am not really letting that habit go I have found that making your own skincare products is actually a lot more beneficial than manufactured products. A couple of days into discovering DIY recipes, I came across essential oils. Tried out a few and I am sold! Read ahead for the cream of my personal essential oil stash:

Tea Tree Oil
So I heard about tea tree oil long before I was into skincare and I am sure you have too. This oil is like a magic potion for acne! If you cannot get rid of your acne, just give this oil a try and you will see some guaranteed results. It is also an anti-bacterial and anti-fungal agent and therefore is great for skin infections and conditions like eczema and rosacea.

Olive Oil
Olive oil is a great moisturizing agent. But it is known to be comedogenic (blocks pores) so people with oily and acne-prone skin should keep away from it. But people with dry skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis and generally scratchy skin should certainly make use of it.

Grapeseed Oil
Use this oil to get rid of that oily shine on your T-zone. Grapeseed oil is known mainly for providing a mattifying effect on oily skin because of its astringent qualities. Add it to your DIY moisturizer recipe for a great non-greasy moisturizer. Grapeseed oil is also full of antioxidants and Vitamin C. These help in making your skin look younger and brighter.

Argan Oil
Argan oil is mostly used for the wonders it works on your hair but I have recently realized that it is just as amazing for your skin. It is mostly known for its anti-aging properties since it is full of anti-oxidants and Vitamin E. Signs of aging can start appearing as early as the age of 25 so it’s never too early to look younger!

Rosehip Oil
Rosehip oil is known for its wonderful healing properties. Adding this to your DIY face mask will increase the flow of blood to your skin and make it look really healthy. It also contains Vitamin A or retinol, which maintains the collagen in your skin, making it softer and more elastic.

Chamomile Oil
Chamomile oil is a Godsend for people with sensitive skin. Use it for an anti-aging effect, as a remedy for conditions like eczema and to achieve smooth, de-stressed skin. Chamomile oil is really good for getting rid of unwanted redness on the skin as well.

Lemongrass Oil
This oil is another great natural remedy formattifying oily skin. Lemongrass oil also helps in shrinking large, open pores because of its astringent qualities. Not only that, Lemongrass oil even works wonders for acne breakouts! I, as a painfully acne-prone and oily-skinned person, prefer to use it as a pre-makeup serum.
