Fashion is an
identity; it’s a means of communicating our personality without uttering a
word. For years, fashion designers have come and gone with the promise of
making us look better than we ever have before.

within Australia and beyond.

stood the test of time and success that young designers can only aspire to.

few iconic fashion designers and how they attained world-wide stardom.
Alex Perry
Arguably one
of the most famous Australian designers, Alex Perry has created some of the
most glamorous gowns to grace red carpets around the world.
After this
Sydney-born fashion designer graduated in 1984 from the East Sydney Fashion
Design Studio he opened his very first physical location in Kensington, Sydney
during 1992.
Perry has gone
on to style some of the most influential people in fashion and entertainment
including Rihanna and Kim Kardashian. Perry has been a regular at the Mercedes
Australian Fashion Week ever since making his debut in 1995.
Dolce and Gabbana
Domenico Dolce
and Stefano Gabbana established themselves as a force to be reckoned with, this
pair of Italian fashion geniuses has been at the forefront of fashion for more
than three decades.
Dolce and
Gabbana really gained public recognition during the Milan fashion week in 1985
with their look that featured black lace named “Sicilian Widow”.
Dolce and
Gabbana gained even more recognition after Madonna wore a D&G bejewelled
corset to the Cannes Film Festival.
Coco Chanel
Few designer
brands come close to Chanel, this French brand was created by Coco Chanel. For
over six decades, they were the Gold standard for haute couture, and in more
ways than one they still are.
Chanel and its
iconic interlocking CC are famous for quilted purses and one of the most famous
fragrances in recent history, Chanel No. 5.

world. CC is a brand that is beautiful, high quality and a trusted brand.
Zimmerman
Nicky and
Simone, the Zimmerman sisters, launched their fashion brand, Zimmerman in 1991.
Ever since the launch of this label, they have grown from strength to strength
and are now amongst the most recognizable brands in Australia.
Zimmerman’s
first store was opened in 1992 in Sydney. A couple of years later they debuted
at the 1996 Australian Fashion Week.
Zimmerman now
has stores across Australia, the United States, and the United Kingdom. With
numerous awards under their belt, it’s not hard to figure out why. The
Zimmerman brand has become iconic both within our country and beyond.
Giorgio Armani
Born in
Piacenza, Italy in 1934, Giorgio Armani revolutionized the fashion world with
his androgynous approach to fashion. He completely revolutionized the idea of
how different genders should style themselves.
He made the
image of men softer by styling them with fabrics traditionally worn by women.
Not only that, but he also styled women’s power suit with ideas traditionally
used in men’s suits.
In the 1980
movie, American Gigolo, Richard Gere’s character wore Armani designed tailored
suits. This further increased the visibility and prestige of the Armani brand.
