Goat Soup

Goat soup is one favorite menu at my BIL’s restaurant. The soup is cooked without coconut milk and always served with some slices of fresh red tomato.  I can't share the recipe here as my SIL keeps it as a family secret :)

If you want to cook goat soup, you may try this recipe that found at 9jafoodie.com.
Goat pepper soup is simply meat in a spiced broth; the special taste comes from the spice mix. Make first the mixed spice blend that contains the same portions of: cloves, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, dried ginger, fennel seeds, and ground pepper. If these spices are hard to find in your area, at least you use cloves, cumin seeds and pepper.

Ingredient :
3 tea spoons of mixed spice
10 small pieces goat meat. Goat ribs will be better!
3 broth cubes
salt
peeled small onion, small ginger and garlic

Direction
  • Set a medium size pan on medium heat; add in the washed goat meat, 1 cup water, 2 broth cubes, some salt, onion, ginger and garlic. Modify the heat to below medium, cover the pan and leave the meat to cook for about 1:30 mins (or until the meat becomes very tender). Take out the ginger and garlic pieces.
  • Add other 4 cups water to the pre-cooked meat, add in the soup spice, the last broth cube. Mix them all. Taste and add salt if needed. Cover up and boil for another 25-30 mins.
Your pepper goat soup is ready to eat.

You may serve it with a sprinkling of fried onions, fresh tomato slices and chopped fresh celery.

Thanks for your visit, yes place with red chairs is an eating place - forget what kind. Won't be trying soup as I don't eat red meat!

I too didn't know that such meat existed. The presentation looks attractive in your photo but not sure I could try it.
