A Few Tricks for a Better Organization of Storage Spaces

Not many people have storage space in their homes nowadays. Living in residential neighborhoods and buildings that are generally not in favor of providing their tenants too much additional space takes its tolls. That is why every inch of storage space should be put to a good use. The number of combinations is limitless and you can adapt your space to your preferences quite quickly if you have a good plan. Here are some tricks that may help you do this efficiently and successfully.

Bathroom SpaceA Few Tricks for a Better Organization of Storage Spaces by ecopallets.com.au
This is typically the smallest room in the house, but that does not mean there is no storage space to be found in it. The best way to do this is by installing bathroom cabinets for your beauty products, towels and other necessities. But, there are two things you must do beforehand: declutter your products and throw away all you are not using, and then find handy boxes for storing the ones you are.

Once you get into it, you will realize that there are many ways to organize your bathroom. The back of your door can, for example, be used for hanging towels and pocket holders that fit all sorts of small items such as brushes, sponges and even a hair dryer. Furthermore, if you have a medicine cabinet, store all your make-up and health products there, so they are close to your mirror. Finally, install some shelves for boxes with all the other things typically laid around the bathroom.

Kitchen and Pantry Space
Since these are small spaces as well, a great deal of organization will be necessary for them as well. With the pantry, the point is to make your job of looking for specific things as easy as possible and this can be done by grouping similar canned goods together. For foods that come in big impractical packages – coffee grains, sugar, olive oil, etc. – a good idea is to repack them into smaller, more adequate packages that will take less room on the shelves, yet still keep them fresh.

A similar method should be employed in the kitchen as well – figuring out how to use less space is the key. First of all, you need high quality kitchen cabinets that will accommodate all your utensils, cutlery and cookware. Then, you can organize your spices and herbs in several sections and use various sizes of jars for them.

Basement SpaceA Few Tricks for a Better Organization of Storage Spaces by ecopallets.com.au
For people who have the luxury of owning a basement, additional storage is never a problem, right? Well, not always. It is more than easy to lose track of all your possessions stored “out of sight” and into the deep darkness of a basement. That is why organizing a basement can take some time – even an entire weekend – but once it is done, the storage space here is bigger than in all other rooms combined.

Again, the most important thing to do is declutter and keep only the essentials. You can then separate them into several categories – memories, work-related stuff, home supplies and so on – and store in plastic crates. These are always a good option as they are reliable, durable and cheap. By labeling and stacking them on top of each other, you will create the most sensible organization there is and always know where your things are.

Further Tips
Of course, organizing storage space should not be limited to these several areas, but done in bedrooms and living rooms, as well as hallways and closet. Things like shower curtain hooks, desk organizers, plastic bins, jewelry boxes and jars always come in handy with a project like this.
