Out In Chinos – Celebrity Spotting

There’s no denying the popularity of chinos, not anymore. They’ve been wearing them stateside for decades, but us Brits are only just catching up. Nevertheless, chinos have finally made it big on the fashion circuit. Everyone from David Beckham to Prince William has been photographed stepping out in them and the trend is showing no sign of slowing down any time soon.

These days, chinos are even taking off for women. It seems like everybody wants to get their hands on a pair and with the range on offer from officersclub.com who could blame them? They look smart and they can be worn for formal occasions, but they’re super comfortable – maybe even more comfortable than jeans. If you haven’t jumped on the bandwagon yet, it’s about time you caught up too, says FashionBeans.com journalist Matt Allinson. Here are just a few of the famous faces regularly stepping out in their favourite pair of chinos.

Prince William

As the experts at Joe magazine point out, Prince William has become a bit of a style icon just recently - his brother better watch out or he’ll find his ‘hottest royal’ title swiftly snatched away. Earlier in the year, Britain’s most famous father was photographed looking super fashionable during a visit to St Mary’s hospital to see his then pregnant wife. William had teamed a pair of tan coloured chinos with a sleek pastel blue sweater and a blue striped shirt. He did eventually go wrong with a pair of garish white trainers but on the whole, it was a stylish and well thought out ensemble. Kate sure is a lucky girl. If you’re in still doubt about the popularity of chinos, you’ll be reassured to know that even Prince Charles has a favourite pair. Or perhaps you won’t.

Brad Pitt

Brad Pitt, the king of Hollywood cool, is regularly spotted wearing a comfortable pair of chinos. The chisel jawed movie veteran has been a fan of these pants for many years now. He was constantly photographed whilst wearing them during his dodgy beard and beanie hat phase about five years ago, says the New York Post. Maybe it’s an age thing or maybe it’s just because he can’t resist the endless comfort and flexibility of a good pair of chinos, who knows. The important thing is that he’s ditched the beard and still looks great. Pitt was recently spotted out with his kids wearing a sophisticated cashmere sweater and a pair of well fitting chinos.

David Beckham

If there’s one name that’s bound to crop up in almost all fashion look books, it’s David Beckham. The 38 year old striker is still kicking it with the best of them and seemingly never struggles to keep up with the plethora of young stars currently emerging in Hollywood and here at home. At this point, it’s fair to say that Beckham is a style icon – he’s earned that much. It doesn’t matter whether he’s rocking his chinos with a punk style T-shirt and an Aztec print sweater, or a super smart Burberry jacket and Oxford shoes – the man knows how to dress to flatter his figure.

Harry Styles

It’s time now to take a look at a young pretender. There are those that love him and those that hate him, but there are very few people in Britain and abroad that can bear to ignore him – Taylor Swift included. Baby faced Harry Styles has taken the fashion world by storm, precisely because he knows how to dress to flatter his figure. The One Direction singer regularly teams his favourite pair of chinos with a smart casual blazer and a tailored shirt or cable knit sweater. When he’s feeling extra daring he’ll top the whole look off with a cheeky bow tie.
